Told in three stories, “In the Land of Brothers” is able to capture the essence, complexity, and heartbreaking scenarios of political conflict, relationships, culture, and the harshness of reality
Three members of a large Afghan family start their lives anew in Iran as refugees, unaware that they will face a long-term struggle to “be home.” I saw it at the 2024 Sundance Film Festival.
Each of the characters and the script is handled with maturity, and all of the acting performances are good
The filmmakers managed to capture the themes, tone, and script for each of the three stories with good emotions, interesting characters, and moments that felt tense and depressing without feeling sentimental or over the top.
The cinematography, production, and soundtrack are excellent
They really brought out the emotions between the characters and the essence of the message and purpose of the film.
There were touching moments and I was sad to watch it
Personally, I think the first and third stories are the most impressive.
Overall, the film claims to be another good Iranian film
Although the second one has some flaws in the pacing, it was still good.
